It will teach you everything from the basics, to tips and tricks, to how to beat every single boss, and also provide some maps for you along the way. Crackdown is a great game, and if you haven't already bought it, I suggest you do. There is a plethora of things to do in this game and you will be entertained for hours. It's a nice simplistic game, and will give you a much needed break from the more complex games. Not to say this game isn't challenging though, because there is a difference between simplistic and easy. You may hear a lot about how Crackdown is just a knock-off of the Grand Theft Auto series, but it is not. Crackdown is similar, but at the same time is completely different. Crackdown has a more useful skills system, and puts a change on playing as a gangster against the cops; in fact it reverses it placing you as a cop against countless gang members. This is also a nice and refreshing change of pace. This is the first guide that I have written, so it may not be as good as some others you have read, but hopefully it will get the job done. Please don't come to this guide looking for laughs though, as this guide is a didactic, and won't offer you any jokes or stories. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================= Table of Contents ----------------------------------- Version History...............[i] Background....................[1] Basics and Controls...........[2] Controls.....................[2a] Heads-Up Display (HUD).......[2b] Main Focus...................[2c] Gangs........................[2d] Supply Points................[2e] Transportation...............[2f] Rooftop Races................[2g] Road Races...................[2h] Targeting....................[2i] Death........................[2j] Skills........................[3] Overview.....................[3a] Agility......................[3b] Driving......................[3c] Explosives...................[3d] Strength.....................[3e] Firearms.....................[3f] Weapons.......................[4] Missions Walkthrough..........[5] Los Muertos Missions.........[5a] Alvarez.....................[5aa] Sanchez.....................[5ab] Martinez....................[5ac] Guerra......................[5ad] Gonzalez....................[5ae] Diaz........................[5af] Garcia......................[5ag] Final Crime.................[5ah] The Volk Missions............[5b] Gryzunova...................[5ba] Biragov.....................[5bb] Mikhalov....................[5bc] Sovetnik....................[5bd] Romanova....................[5be] Rabotnikov..................[5bf] Golyak......................[5bg] Final Crime.................[5bh] Shai-Gen Missions............[5c] Timbol......................[5ca] Czemenko....................[5cb] Yin.........................[5cc] Cowel.......................[5cd] Oakley......................[5ce] Rzeznik.....................[5cf] Wang........................[5cg] Final Crime.................[5ch] Secrets.......................[6] Hidden Orbs..................[6a] Agility Orbs.................[6b] Stunt Ring Markers...........[6c] Supply Points.................[7] Achievements..................[8] Legal Notices.................[9] Works Cited...................[10] Contact Information...........[11] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The numbers in the brackets are quick-find codes. I will use an example as follows (note the example version number is not the actually version number of this guide): v1.234 The 'v' simply stands for the word version. The '1' will increase when I perform a complete guide overhaul. For it to increase from '0' to '1' though, the walkthrough must become complete. Also if the '2' increases past '9,' the '1' will increase. The '2' will increase when I add and finish a section of the guide, or if I make a complete section overhaul. Also if the '3' increases past '9,' the '2' will increase The '3' will increase when I add a section, but fail to complete it in one sit-down, when I partially complete a started section, or when I complete an already started section. Also if the '4' increases past a '9,' the '4' will increase. The '4' will increase when I fix formatting, spelling, grammatical, and sentence structure mistakes. It may also increase if I add a sentence here and there, and if I replace words with synonyms to make the guide more fun to read. If a number is increased, it sets all numbers to the right of it back to '0.' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: The dates are when I actually revised the guide, not when the revisions were accepted to GameFAQs. 03/06/07, v0.900 - Guide uploaded and accepted 03/06/07, v0.901 – Minor spelling errors corrected 03/06/07, v0.910 – Version History added, Works Cited added, Contact information added, ASCII art added 03/06/07, v0.920 – Shai-Gen strategy completed 4/8 03/06/07, v0.921 – Lengthened Foreword 03/06/07, v0.922 – Minor spelling errors corrected 03/06/07, v0.923 – Minor format problems changed 03/06/07, v0.924 – Changed version number layout 03/06/07, v0.930 – Achievements Section added and completed 2/43 03/07/07, v0.931 – Fixed very slight formatting, grammatical, and spelling errors 03/07/07, v0.932 – Achievements Section completed 22/43 03/07/07, v0.933 – ASCII art touched up 03/07/07, v0.934 – Reverted to original ASCII art 03/07/07, v0.935 – Achievements Section completed 43/43 03/08/07, v0.936 – Corrected a small formatting problem 03/08/07, v1.000 – Shai-Gen walkthrough completed 8/8; full game walkthrough completed 24/24 03/08/07, v1.001 – Added information to Contact Information 03/08/07, v1.002 – Slight formatting error corrected 03/08/07, v1.003 – Slight grammatical and spelling errors corrected 03/08/07, v1.004 – Updated quick-find code info to be more informative 03/08/07, v1.010 – Added a legend to the version history 03/08/07, v1.020 – Re-did version legend to be more understandable 03/09/07, v1.030 – Made the controls sub-section more comprehensible 03/10/07, v1.031 – Corrected minor formatting error 03/10/07, v1.032 – Changed date format in version history 03/10/07, v1.033 – De-capitalized web addresses to be copy/pastable 03/10/07, v1.034 – ASCII art touched up 03/10/07, v1.040 – Weapons section overhaul to include more information 03/10/07, v1.041 – Corrected sentence devices in weapons section 03/10/07, v1.042 – Touched up ASCII art 03/10/07, v1.043 – Added clause to contact information 03/11/07, v1.050 – Added stunt ring marker sub-section 03/11/07, v1.060 – Added various sub-section markers and quick-find codes 03/11/07, v1.061 – Corrected grammar mistake 03/13/07, v1.062 – Added information to the foreword 03/14/07, v1.063 – Added information to contact information 03/14/07, v1.070 – Added additional way to get to Wang (provided by 'Frode from Norway') 03/14/07, v1.071 – Added some information to the Main Focus sub-section 03/14/07, v1.080 – Added Heads-Up Display sub-section 03/14/07, v1.081 – Added and corrected information in the Controls sub-section ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ============== Background [1] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You go by one name, and one name only, Agent. You were created by highly advanced genetic modification that was designed to improve human capabilities to something supernatural. Your operation was a success. Even though you are more human than machine, the Agency still owns you, and you must abide by them. You have one objective, annihilate the three gangs that have infested Pacific City. There are three districts, one containing each of these gangs, each gang containing a seemingly endless amount of members due to exodus in foreign countries. Your mission will not be easy, but you must do it to save Pacific City from ruin. Also, remember, death is not the end for you. Once your genetic enhancement was confirmed successful, the Agency started growing thousands of clones, so that if you fail your mission, a clone can proceed on from where you left off. The Agency building has been strategically placed betwixt the three districts. It was converted from an old run-down hotel, and reinforced to keep out the gangs, and has been fitted with automatically locking doors to keep out foreign assailants. The Agency has a tunnel leading to each district to give you fast access to anywhere you wish to go. That is all Agent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================= Basics and Controls [2] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section is going to teach you how to play the game. It will teach you all the controls, and what different things mean and do. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++ Controls [2a] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A - On foot: Jump In vehicle: Brake B – On foot: Melee, lift object, set down object In vehicle: Honk, special car function (in Agency vehicles with four-star driving skill) X – On foot: Cycle weapons In vehicle: No function Y – On foot: Perform currently available action In vehicle: No function RT – On foot: Fire weapon, close range melee, throw held object In vehicle: Accelerate LT – On foot: Aim at target nearest current crosshair location In vehicle: Decelerate RB - On foot: Throw grenade, zoom in (while in scoped mode with a sniper) In vehicle: No function LB - On foot: Reload, zoom out (while in scoped mode with a sniper) In vehicle: No function L thumbstick - On foot: Move, select CLICK to crouch/steady aim In vehicle: Control vehicle while airborne R thumbstick - On foot: Move crosshairs/camera angle, precise aiming while locked on, CLICK jump In vehicle: Change camera angle, CLICK look behind Ctrl Up - On foot: Enter/exit scoped mode (with sniper equipped) In vehicle: No function Ctrl Down - On foot: Exit scoped mode (with sniper equipped) In vehicle: No function Ctrl Left - On foot: No function In vehicle: No function Ctrl Right - On foot: No function In vehicle: No function BACK – On foot: City Map In vehicle: City Map START – On foot: Pause game In vehicle: Pause game ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Heads-Up Display (HUD) [2b] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - This is a simple ASCII diagram of the heads-up display, which means it leaves a lot to be desired. It should give you the main idea of the actual heads-up display though. Please keep in mind that the diagram is not to scale, and that the key may have shortened versions of the symbols contained within the diagram. _________________________________________________________ | ,,,,,,,,,, ,0, /X /X /X | | 'HHHHHHHHHH, 0,0 | | '''' | |[AGI]:: | |[DRI]:: | |[XPL]:: | |[STR]:: | | |[FIR]:: -(+)- | | | | | | | ____ ____________ | | / / PPPPPP ___ | |( MMMM ) ________/...| | | ____/ _SSSS_|GG| | |_________________________________________________________| Key: ,,,,, = Shield HHHHH = Health 0,0, = Latency (cooperative play only) /X = Hit Squad Warnings [AGI] = Agility Skill Bar [DRI] = Driving Skill Bar [XPL] = Explosives Skill Bar [STR] = Strength Skill Bar [FIR] = Firearms Skill Bar -(+)- = Crosshairs ( M ) = Mini-Map PPPPP = Primary Weapon ... = Ammunition Supply for Primary Weapon SSSS = Secondary Weapon GG = Grenade Supply ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - +++++++++++++++ Main Focus [2c] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are two main things you must do in Crackdown, kill gang leaders, and find orbs. Although orb collecting is not mandatory, it will prove useful in leveling up your different skills. The gang leaders get continuously more challenging as your progress through each gang district. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++ Gangs [2d] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are three gangs, Los Muertos (The Dead), Volk (Wolf in Russian, People in German), and Shai-gen. (unknown translation) Each gang controls a district of Pacific city. The gangs are of easy, medium, and hard difficulties, respectively. There are tunnels in the Agency building that lead to each district (although you can only access the Muertos tunnel at the beginning, and the other tunnels once you have entered the other districts) Each gang has seven gang leaders, six generals, and one kingpin. Their locations are unknown, so you will need to track them down. Hopefully though, your copy of the game came with the nice map that shows the location of each gang leader. Once you get close to where the gang leader is, his location will be marked on your map forever. Each gang leader plays a certain role in the gang. The more gang generals you take out, the weaker their respective kingpin will be, and the less enemies that will be protecting him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++++++++++ Supply Points [2e] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are small armories hidden inside what appear to be civilian buildings. They hold all the ammo you will ever need, and duplicates of every weapon you have brought back to a supply point. You can even transport from one supply point to another. The only problem is that the gangs have found all the supply points, and are guarding them, not very heavily though. It should be easy for you to recapture the agency supply points. To claim a supply point, simply enter it by pressing Y on the glowing beam of light that can be seen for miles. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++++++++ Transportation [2f] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are three modes of transportation: running, driving, and supply point transportation. Running is the most common and most effective, but it is slower than driving, especially at the lower agility levels. Although with running, you have the agility and climbing abilities needed to scale structures. Driving is mainly just used for getting from point A to point B when you want to do it fast, and there aren't many supply points nearby. Supply Point travel is great. If you are at a supply point, you can travel to any other supply point you have captured instantly. If you are not near a supply point, no problem, just go into your pause menu, and press 'extract.' Although you will be killed, now you can choose to go to any Supply Point you wish. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++++++++++ Rooftop Races [2g] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are races that will usually have to do with hopping form rooftop to rooftop in a specified amount of time. There are checkpoints to hit, usually between twenty and forty checkpoints. If you are able to complete the race in the allotted amount of time, you are rewarded with agility experience orbs, the amount varying depending on how fast you completed the race. You can complete a single race numerous amounts of times and still get agility experience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++++ Road Races [2h] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are also road races. These races take place on the streets of Pacific city. These races are most practical using cars, especially agency vehicles, although some are possible to do on foot with four-star agility. Just like the rooftop races, you have to complete them in a certain amount of time, and you get driving experience for completing the races, and you can complete a race as many times as you wish and still be rewarded. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++++++ Targeting [2i] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The main way you are going to attack a gang member is by locking on to him. To lock on, pull the left trigger and hold it to stay locked on. You will see a small display of the enemies health, indicated by a red bar, and possible red blocks (indicating multiple health bars) You will also see a small body to the right of the health bar (or a car when locking on to a vehicle.) You can choose which body part you are aiming at by moving the right thumbstick in the direction the body part is compared to where you are aiming now. When switching body parts, you will notice your crosshairs extend, meaning you will be taking less accurate shots. The crosshairs will gradually become smaller, meaning your shots will be more accurate. Crouching will make the crosshairs decrease in size faster. Shooting at different body parts will do different things. Shooting the head will do much more damage, but is much harder to hit. Hitting the chest can stun the enemies, and is the largest target. Shooting and arm will temporarily disarm your opponent, and shooting at the legs will knock the enemy down. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++ Death [2j] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Death is not the end! You have clones waiting to be deployed from any supply point you have captured. If you die, a clone can carry on your incomplete mission from where you left off. Be warned though, dying decreases your skill percentage to the nearest whole percent.(Except agility)(If you have 75% towards driving, with your bar halfway filled up, the bar will empty leaving you with exactly 75%) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========== Skills [3] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section lists the five skills contained in Crackdown. It explains the skills, what their attributes are, how to increase them, et cetera. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++ Overview [3a] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You have five skills: Agility, Driving, Explosives, Strength, and Firearms. Each skill has its purpose, and its own benefits for getting it up. Each skill has five levels of advancement, no stars, one star, two star, three star, and four star. Each time you achieve another star, your abilities in that respective skill increases noticeably. After reaching four stars, you can also 'max out' your skill, by getting it to 100% again, though this does not cause you to do things related to that skill any better. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++++ Agility [3b] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The agility skill affects how fast you run, how high you can jump, and the height you can fall from without taking damage. There are four ways to increase your agility level. The first way is the most common, and easiest, collecting agility orbs. There are 500 agility orbs scattered across the whole city. Each one increases your agility just a little bit. They increase your agility by more if there are more 'mini-orbs' floating above the main orb. The second way to increase agility is to successfully complete Rooftop Races. Completing a Rooftop Race will give you agility experience dependent upon how quickly you finished the race. You can complete Rooftop Races more than once and receive experience, even if you don't beat your 'Personal Best' for that race. The third way to increase agility is to kill enemies at high altitudes. The higher your altitude when you kill an enemy, the more agility experience you get, albeit a very insignificant amount. The fourth and final way is to collect hidden orbs. When you collect a hidden orb, you get a very petty amount of experience towards every skill. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++++ Driving [3c] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The driving skill affects your maneuverability and speed in cars. With a higher driving skill, all cars will move faster, and be able to turn better. At each driving level, each Agency vehicle will look a little more 'decked out,' and once you reach a four star driving level, each Agency vehicle will have a special power. The Supercar will get dual machine guns attached to it, the SUV will be able to jump off the ground without use of a ramp, and the Truck Cab will be able to use nitrous oxide (Berzelius indication N2O, slang term 'noss') to go faster. There are three ways to level up your driving skill. (Excluding use of Hidden Orbs) The first way is the quickest; it is to run over gang members. If you kill a gang member while in a vehicle, you will get a decent amount of experience. Moving at pretty much any speed in a vehicle is lethal to all humans. The second way is to complete Road Races. Completing a Road Race will give you driving experience dependent upon how quickly you finished the race. You can complete Road Races more than once and receive experience, even if you don't beat your 'Personal Best' for that race. The third way is to do aerial stunts. Simply find a spot where you can propel yourself into the air, and perform one of the following stunts: front flip, back flip, left roll, right roll, long jump (100ft.+?) or high jump (50ft.+?) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++++ Explosives [3d] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The explosive skill governs how large, and how powerful explosions initiated by you are. Obviously with a higher explosive skill, your deadliness with explosive weapons (all grenades, mines, and rocket propelled weaponry) increases. There is but one way to advance your explosive skill. (Again excluding use of Hidden Orbs) Killing gang members with any explosive weaponry will cause your explosive skill to go up. It is advised that you shoot at groups of gang members to maximize the experience gained per round. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++ Strength [3e] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The strength skill controls how much health you are capable of having, how much weight you can lift, and how strong your melee attacks are. With a four star strength skill, you can lift any object in the game. To increase your strength skill, you have to kill gang members with blunt attacks, such as kicking or pistol-whipping them, or by throwing any object at them and doing damage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++ Firearms [3f] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your firearm skill affects mainly how accurate you are with firearms, and how much damage you do with firearms. It also affects how quickly your crosshairs will shrink when locking on to a target. There are a few ways to get firearms experience. The first way is to just kill someone with a bullet-propelling weapon. Killing people by aiming at different parts of the body does not affect the amount of experience gained form killing that person. A second way to gain experience, is to kill gang members via shooting explosive objects. If there is a gang member sanding next to a diesel tank, you can shoot the tank, and gain firearms experience from him, instead of explosives. You can also shoot the gas tank of a car containing gang members and cause the car to explode, killing the gang members and getting experience for yourself. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =========== Weapons [4] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section contains various statistics on different weapons found throughout the game. The weapons are classified by the type of firearm that each weapon is. The statistics for each weapon are in the order: weapon name, weapon class, clip size:maximum ammunition (minus current clip,) power. (Note that the asterisks represent power, not effectiveness or practicality, although the two go hand in hand in most cases for these weapons) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pistols; earns firearms experience: Colby 'Master' Pistol 12:180 ** Smithers 'Punisher' Pistol 16:160 ** Kokav 'Diktat' Pistol 8:80 * ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bolt Action Firearms; earns firearms experience: Dempsey SO-6 'Stub' Shotgun 4:40 **** Dempsey 190 'Equalizer' Shotgun 8:80 **** Bastion SX900 'Longshot' Sniper Rifle 1:10 **** Bastion S600 'Long Eye' Sniper Rifle 5:20 ***** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Automatic Firearms; earns firearms experience: Ingalls X80 SMG SMG 32:320 *** Harman MP-50 SMG 32:320 *** Colby EAR50 Assault Rifle 32:480 **** Ingalls MG-60 Assault Rifle 32:320 **** Harlington HMG-90 Machine Gun 80:800 ****** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Explosive Firearms; earns explosives experience: Watson HE79 'Grenadier' RPG 4:12 ******** Watson HE99 'Hothead' Rocket 1:10 ********* Watson HE99-X 'Firefly' Rocket 5:15 ********** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Explosive Projectiles; earns explosives experience: Grenade Grenade 0:8 ******* Colby 'Limpet Charge' Mine 0:8 ******* Shrapnel Grenade Grenade 0:8 ******* Cluster Grenade Grenade 0:8 ******* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================== Missions Walkthrough [5] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you attempt the missions, you should become acquainted with the Agency building first. The Agency contains the only supply point you start with, and a very very small weapon selection. Good thing weapons are not too important yet. The main reason you will learn to love the Agency building, is for its garage. It hosts three different cars, the Supercar, the SUV, and the Truck Cab. Test each one out a little bit, and find which one you like best. Once you are ready, you can deploy through the only tunnel that you have access to as of yet, the Muertos tunnel. It's totally up to you what you do next, but I suggest doing some freelance fighting, and some agility orb hunting before you start doing the missions. Having your skills up even just a little bit can help loads. Another thing I STRONGLY suggest is that you capture all the supply points in a district before attempting the missions, because it will make things much easier on you. (On your in-game map, it shows the location of all non-captured supply points as what appear to be grey dots. (They are actually Agency logos)) Some info to help you capture supply points can be found after the walkthrough section. To see maps of the different boss locations, you can go to this website, www.freewebs.com/crackdownmaps, and each boss location will be outlined, and will have the surrounding area's name labeled. When I refer to where bosses are, I will say, "boss X is in area Y" so that I don't have to describe exactly where he is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Los Muertos Missions [5a] -------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alvarez [5aa] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Sportiz Sports Centre Head over to the sport center. When you near it, you should see lots of basketball courts and tennis courts, and a large building with "Sportiz" in large letters on the front of the building. Since most of the defenses are in the front of the complex, and on high vantage points atop the building, I suggest that you head around back. You should go around the building, and come in from the ocean on the backside of the complex. Climb the rocks that are behind the complex for a good view of everything. Quickly locate a crescent- shaped rock structure on the sand behind the large building. Alvarez is hiding underneath a ledge in that rock structure. Before you take him on though, try to finish off some of his henchmen. Take as many people out as you can from a safe distance. If you become harmed and are in danger of dying, hop into the water and seek refuge behind a rock. Once your health has refilled, start fighting again. After most of his henchmen have been disposed of, move towards the crescent-shaped rocks. Chuck some grenades underneath the ledge you will find. Hopefully this will knock Alvarez down, and hopefull clear some of the gang members also hiding there with him. Drop down from the ledge and finish Alvarez off with some good punches and kicks, while keeping an eye on your health. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sanchez [5ab] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: El Castillo Apartments When you near the apartment complex, you should be able to see that Sanchez is on top of a blue apartment building. Make use of the external windowsills of the blue building, and climb to the top. Sanchez should be right at the top, and not too heavily guarded. Make use of melee attacks since explosives could be very dangerous in the close quarters of this building. You should be able to Finish Sanchez off without much ado. If any gang members are giving you problems, kill them first since Sanchez isn't heavily armed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Martinez [5ac] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Hillside Housing I believe he is actually slightly north of the Hillside Housing area. You should be able to find his exact location on your mini-map in game. He is atop a blue building, with external staircases on one of the sides. There are lots of gang members on he different levels of the building, so slowly work your way up, taking out the gang members on each level, or else they might run up the stairs and take you out as you try to kill Martinez. If you are lucky, as you near the top floor of the building, Martinez may actually seek you out, saving you some trouble. If not, keep working your way up until you are on the highest roof. You may need to run down a little walkway to get to him. There isn't much defense on the highest roof, so it should pretty much be a showdown betwixt you and Martinez. Aim for his legs to knock him down, then run up beside him and pummel him with melee attacks and such. He should be no problem once you get him off his feet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Guerra [5ad] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Guerra's Nightclub This is, in my opinion, the easiest boss of the whole game. Walk through the main gates, taking out anyone who is shooting at you. You should be able to dispose of the pretty quickly. Trek around the side of the building (left or right, it doesn't matter) and take out the few enemies that will be defending the nightclub. You will find Guerra either under the red canopy behind the club, or underneath a balcony past the red canopy. If he is under the canopy, lob all your grenades onto the canopy, killing all of the defenses, and hopefully Guerra. If not, jump up onto the platform and throw in a roundhouse kick or two. If Guerra is under one of the balconies, jump to the same level as Guerra is on. Like in the last strategy, throw grenades at him, if you are lucky, a nearby car will explode, dealing out extra damage to Guerra and his men. If Guerra is down-but-not-out, deal with any gang members that are attacking, then finish off Guerra with a few well placed bullets or kicks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gonzalez [5ae] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Lighthouse You should be able to spot the lighthouse from far enough away that none of the gang members guarding can see you. Run to the ocean so you can swim up to the lighthouse. Once you are in the ocean, start swimming towards the lighthouse. When the gang members start shooting at you, start swimming next to rocks and such. You should see a walkway made of rock leading to the front of the lighthouse. Search for the small balcony sticking out of the lighthouse about halfway up, in the front, Gonzalez should be hiding on that balcony. Quickly leap onto the rocky walkway, and make a mad dash towards the lighthouse, ignoring all the defenses. There should be rocks just to the right of the balcony that you can use as a makeshift stairwell to reach the balcony. Hop on the balcony from atop the rocks, and Gonzalez should be waiting for you. Kick him into the back of the small cut-out leading to the balcony. In this 'room' you are safe from enemy fire, and you can dispose of Gonzalez without much worry of him getting away, or being kicked off of the lighthouse. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~ Diaz [5af] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Easy Rider's Garage This location is heavily guarded. Take out any cannon fodder on the outside first. When they are all gone, climb onto the roof of the garage. There are sections of roof missing that you can use as windows to shoot gang members through. The roof is also high enough that you are too far away for the gang members to shoot back. So take out all the gang members you can while on the roof. Once everyone is dead, drop down into the garage, and take out anyone who is still left un-killed. Find the garage door that Diaz is behind, and ram it with a car. If Diaz exits the garage you just bashed, get out of your car and try to ploy him out of his car. After he is out of his car take out his legs to knock him down, then wail on him with your melee attacks. If he did not drive out of the garage, proceed to run him over with the car you just used as a battering ram. Be careful, as the gang members within the garage may throw grenades at you, and it will be hard to escape from them if you are in the small garage area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Garcia [5ag] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: Kingpin Location: Villa Approach the villa from the sea on the northern side. This way you can avoid fighting a good 90% of the gang members defending the villa. You should see a small hut like building on the northern side, with Garcia inside. Climb to the doorway of the hut, and throw some grenades inside of it to clear out the gang members. Use your remaining grenades to kill Garcia since he cannot evade them because he is stuck behind the bar counter. If your grenades are all used up, just run behind the bar counter and beat Garcia to death. This should be a particularly easy boss fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Final Crime [5ah] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: Final Crime Location: Amusement Park (map marker will be placed automatically) This is one of the saddest excuses for a riot that you will ever see. There are maybe fifteen to twenty rioters. You can easily take them out with a few well placed grenades. If grenades just aren't your thing, you can take them out with melee without much worry about dying, or you can mow them down with a rifle, heck, you could even mow them down with a pistol. If the mission is not complete after killing the rioters at the entrance of the park, then there are a few stragglers within the park. Use the same strategy as before and deal with them quickly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++++++++++++ The Volk Missions [5b] ----------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gryzunova [5ba] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: City Memorial Observatory Approach the observatory from the front. There will be a guarded tunnel that leads up to the observatory, but don't take it. You can easily climb the rock face surrounding the observatory. Gryzunova will be inside the observatory, and there should be some gang members outside. Deal with them, which shouldn't be too hard, as there aren't many. When that's done, head inside and take out Gryzunova. Stay close to her so she doesn't use her rocket launcher. If at any time Gryzunova comes out of the building while your fighting the few gang members, turn your full attention on her, because her rocket launcher can really pack a punch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Biragov [5bb] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: City Coaches Biragov will be within a large blue building, with the words, "City Coaches" on the front of it. Climb on top of the building, and take out any snipers on the roof. Then run the perimeter of the roof taking out any gang members on the ground that you find (while still perched on the roof.) Once you don't see any more threats, drop down into a small alley on the north side of the building. You will find an entrance to the building. Stay outside and try to pick off the gang members defending the interior. After everyone is killed, or you cannot see any more gang members, rush inside. Get underneath the walkway that Biragov is on, and shoot any remaining threats you see. When they are killed, jump to the walkway and take out Biragov with melee attacks, while ignoring the few gang members that may be perched atop the walkway with Biragov. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mikhalov [5bc] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Docks (three star agility or above HIGHLY recommended) Enter the docks from the east side, as the safest route to Mikhalov starts here. Head just south of the road race until you find an opening in the chain link fence. Take out any immediate threats, and make a dash for the cargo bins. Try to stay in the alley formed by the rows of bins, and take out the sniper atop the cargo bin stacks. Watch your flanks as your taking out the snipers. Once you have reached the end of the cargo bin alley, take out anyone on the large boat that you can. If you are getting hurt, you should be able to find cover behind cargo bins pretty easily. Once everyone you can see is dead, make a dash for the boat. Make use of any staggered platforms you can to get onto the boat. Mikhalov should be on the top floor of the ship. So head to the southern part of the ship where the staircases are located, taking out any gang members along the way. Climb the stairs, and Mikhalov should be waiting for you, throw all your grenades in his general area, then retreat down the stairs until they are finished exploding. Then go back up and finish off Mikhalov, and any gang members that are still alive. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sovetnik [5bd] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Puregy Refinery When your in the refinery, you should head to the northern side. You should see a building with multiple floors that have no walls. You should also see exclamation points on your HUD. Head to the floor the lower exclamation point is on, and take out any enemies. Then aim at the machine the exclamation point is on. This will start to flush Sovetnik out of his impenetrable 'fort.' Now climg up a few floors to the second exclamation point. Do the same thing as before, take out the enemies, then the machine. Sovetnik is nearly ready to come out of his hiding place. Shoot anyone you see on the ground from your current vantage point. Head over to the south side of the plant now. Get up to the walkway that runs the outer edge of most of the refinery. Follow it to just southeast of the 'fort,' all the while killing any gang members you come across, and you should see the last machine that needs to be destroyed. Shoot the explosive barrels next to it to take it out quickly, and Sovetnik will be successfully flushed out of his 'fort.' Jump to the top of his hideout, and take a shot or two at Sovetnik's legs to immobilize him. Then kill the gang members that are also up there. When it's is just a showdown between you and Sovetnik, just beat him to death with your melee attacks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Romanova [5be] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Mason's Quarry Entering the main area of this installation is a death trap. So climb the rocks on the northern side of the quarry. When you get to the top you should be able to see the whole quarry, and Romanova driving a truck around. (When she spots you she will retreat to a cave, so don't let her spot you) Hop down from your vantage point when Romanova's truck is as close as it's going to get to you. Shoot out the tires as fast as you can to slow her truck down. Hijack the vehicle, then climb out of it again. Ignore all gang members shooting at you and beat down Romanova as fast as possible, because chances are you will die before you can take out all the gang members. Use melee attacks to kill Romanova, because it is the fastest way, and you don't have much time before you are either killed, or the truck you are next to blows up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rabotnikov [5bf] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Camp Johnson This is one of the most heavily guarded areas in the whole game. Lucky for you, you don't need to kill a single gang member, except for Rabotnikov. While you are still standing on the mainland, looking at the camp, jump into the water on the northern side of the bridges. Keep swimming just north of the bridges, while maintaining a safe distance. Just after you pass a tan colored tower, you will see a clump of rocks sticking out of the main structure that you can climb. At the top of this small outcropping of rocks, you will be very close to Rabotnikov. His exact location is not heavily guarded, just the entrance to the camp, which means you can jump over to his location and take him out without much trouble. Another strategy that you could use to avoid any damage, is jump and achieve a lock on Rabotnikov, then let yourself land, and you will be behind cover again, but you can keep your lock on him. Now you should be free to throw grenades, and hopefully their trajectory will clear the rocks between you and Rabotnikov. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Golyak [5bg] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: Kingpin Location: Exetron Oil Rig Once again, there is no way you can survive if you head in through the front to kill this boss. So hop into the ocean, and approach the large pillar-like building from the back (southeast.) There will be a gang member or two on the small rusted platform on the backside of the building. Take them out, then head inside. There may or may not be threats above you, if there are, they will be in minuscule amounts. Use the broken platforms and things to climb to the top of this silo. There is a square opening at the top you can head through. Once through the opening, you will be fired on from all directions, so rush underneath the staircase to your left. Pop your head out from underneath and take out as many gang members as you can before you need to replenish your shields. After all the visible threats are gone, head up the staircase, and kill any remaining gang members. Keep climbing the staircases until you are lead outside to a large platform with a yellow outline. Kill the gang members using the explosive barrels they are near. Now that they are killed, continue climbing the staircases on the other side of the platform which lead to the top of a tower. Once you are atop this tower, it will be just you and Golyak, so kill him however you please, but if you want to kill him swiftly, use melee attacks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Final Crime [5bh] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: Final Crime Location: Just north of the Wolfpack Riot Area (in the plaza with a large statue of a hand holding a cog) This just another riot, in which a minimal number of gang members that showed up. You can easily just chuck grenades at the small packs of gang members, but if your health isn't up to the challenge, climb on top of the building with a green dome to the north of the plaza. From here you can snipe most of the rioters with any kind of gun, and you can take cover if your hurt. When there are only a few threats left, jump down and take out the few remaining rioters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++++++++++++++++ Shai-Gen Missions [5c] ----------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Timbol [5ca] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Human Reality Inc. There is a glass enclosure that contains Timbol. You want to climb the buildings surrounding the enclosure. From any of the rooftops adjacent to the glass enclosure, you should be able to see the enclosure, and Timbol inside. Don't bother killing any of the gang members on the many walkways or the surrounding roofs, because they will respawn infinitely. The best way to kill Timbol, is just charge inside of the glass enclosure and throw all your grenades, then retreat briefly, and then finish Timbol off once the grenades are done with their job. If you find yourself being heavily attacked while inside the enclosure, try running in circles to avoid bullets, and hopefully regain shield. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Czemenko [5cb] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: P.C.N. Research Institute For the most safety, approach the institute from the northern side. Climb up the rocks and drop down to where you see a circle of crates surrounding stairs leading inside the main building. Go down the stairs and you will be inside. Locate Czemenko, and climb the ledges and stairs up to his position. There will be a glass door blocking the doorway into his room, but it can be easily knocked out of the way by a roundhouse kick. Once inside Czemenko's room, kill the four or five gang members inside, then focus all your attention on Czemenko, preferably attacking him with melee attacks to kill him quickly and efficiently. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~ Yin [5cc] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: The Knowledge Bank Head over to the Knowledge Bank building. Yin is in the geosphere located at the center of the bank. Try to get to the catwalk surrounding the geosphere ar quickly as possible, then start taking out gang members from there. Once most of the gang members surrounding the sphere have been dealt with, find a spot to let your health refill, as you will need as much as you can get for the next part. When your health is full, quickly rush inside, and jump onto the ring- walkway that's slightly higher than the level you will be on when you enter. Yin should be on this ring-walkway also. Deal out as much damage as you can with melee attacks, because there are many gang members inside the sphere. If you want you can try to take out all the gang members within the dome, but I believe that they continuously respawn. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~ Cowel [5cd] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Central Point Head over to the large skyscraper named Central Point. There may be a few gang members outside so take them out however you wish. Break open the doors to the front entrance, and make a break for the opposite side of the building where the elevator is located. Press Y on the glowing blue light to call the elevator. As you wait for the doors to open (there may be no wait if you're lucky,) kill the gang members shooting at you. Immediately when the doors open rush inside and activate the elevator by pressing Y on the blue light inside of the elevator. During the long elevator ride your health should have enough time to refill completely. When the doors open run out into the room, ignoring all gang members. There is a circular cut out of each floor reaching from your floor to the top of the building. With a good agility skill you can jump from one side of the circular cut out to the opposite side a floor higher. Do that until you reach the top floor. If your agility level isn't up to the challenge, just charge up the ramps on the edges of the room. At the top floor there will be an entranceway that leads to a small balcony outside, with a wall suitable for climbing on either side. Climb either side, it doesn't matter which, then climb up to the central dome atop the skyscraper. Cowel is inside this dome. He has a few bodyguards inside his dome, so chuck all of your grenades inside. All his guards should be dead. If he is still alive just run in and finish him with some melee attacks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oakley [5ce] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: P.C.N. Exhibition Center/Expo You will see a long tunnel leading up to the building. Do not walk on top of it, as that will get you nowhere. Instead you need to go through it by finding the entrance on the mainland. As your running down the tunnel take out any gang members you see. Once you are inside of the actual building, quickly head to the back of the dome, and run inside of the dome. Kill the gang members in here, and run up the stairs. When you reach the top of the stairs, make sure you have full health before leaving the stairwell-room. Rush into the next room, and locate the catwalk that Oakley is on. Don't bother killing gang members because they infinitely respawn. Jump up to Oakley's catwalk and deal out the damage quickly with melee attacks because you probably don't have much time before you are killed by Oakley's guards. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rzeznik [5cf] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: General Location: Insight Counter Services Approach this monstrosity of a building from the east side by swimming in the water. You should be able to scale the rocks on the sides of the island to get into the building. Once inside the building you will be under very heavy gunfire so move quickly. There is a walkway leading around the perimeter of each floor, with ramps connecting the floors. Jump and climb to the top floor, then run the perimeter until you find an entrance to the glass tunnel. Once you are inside the glass tunnel, follow it to the side of the building Rzeznik is on. Climb the stairs to his room, and you may or may not be going head to head with him. If there are some other gang members in the room, take them out quickly with a grenade or two. After they are finished, take out Rzeznik however you please, he shouldn't put up too much of a fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~ Wang [5cg] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: Kingpin Location: The Tower Before you even attempt fighting Wang, you should max out your agility level, or getting to the top of The Tower will prove difficult. Head to the tower, and go on the right or the left side of it (it doesn't matter which) and you will see a doorway blocked by an unbreakable door, and window to the side of that door. Inside the window, there may be a gang member or two, so take them out. You can achieve a line of sight through the window to the area just behind the door. To open the door, you need to bust the control panel located right behind it. With this newly achieved line of sight, throw a grenade or launch a rocket as close to the door as you can. Hopefully the control panel will explode and you can head inside. You will appear in a room with low hanging chandeliers (that may explode.) Run to the back of the room and take the staircase to the left or the right (doesn't matter which.) You will come to another room a lot like the last one, head up a staircase on the right or the left again, and you will be lead a room with orange floors. Head to one of the back corners and climb the staircase. This room leaves you out in the open, so you must move quickly. Head up any stairs you find as quickly as possible, until you are out of stairs to climb. You should be able to a see a walkway higher up than the one you are on now. To reach said walkway, you have to jump onto one of the black pillars protruding form the wall or the floor, then jump from there to the higher-up walkway. Climb the stairs and you will be in another room that leaves you greatly exposed. You will see archways all along the perimeter of this room. You can use the area just to the top right of the archways as a foothold that you can jump from. So get your foothold, and quickly jump to the platform right above the archways. Now climb all the stairs you can find, and get to the highest walkway you can get to without jumping. You should see large cylindrical yellow things hanging from the ceiling. Leap on top of the lowest hanging one. Turn around once you're on top of it, and jump to the ledge that's now in front of you. In this next room continue running the perimeter until you find a staircase, and then the same thing for the following room. You should now be on the roof, containing a gazebo and a pagoda. Wang is on the second floor of the pagoda. You can reach his location by hopping on the gazebo, and jumping to a ledge of the pagoda, then climbing up from there. Once you're on the same level as Wang, quickly shoot his bodyguards, then finish him off however you see fit. Alternate strategy; as provided by 'Frode from Norway': With this method, you can skip almost 2/3 of the building he's in which I think is great because of all of the pain-in-the-ass guards who are blasting you with rockets in tight areas. To do this, you need a 4 star agility-skill. First, you need to start in the supply point named "Stripey`s Cafe" which is located directly west from Wang's hideout. Then, turn around 180 degrees and jump up on the roof directly over the supply point. Now turn around 90 degrees so you're facing east/Wang's hideout. In front of you there should be a building with 4 columns on the side, and 8 on the roof (there's a glass building with some red lights to the left). Jump to the building with all the columns and get to the top where the 8 columns are located. There should also be an agility-orb there, if you haven't already taken it. When you're on the roof you should see Wang's hideout. Directly to the right is an oval-shaped building with a ledge between each floor that is partially lit with red. You need to jump to that building and get to the roof. Just run, jump and grab onto a ledge (you will fall a little first, but don't worry, you will grab on eventually), then climb in. In the center of the building you can see two light-blue pillars. Use them to get to the roof. On the roof you turn, facing Wang's building. Looking a little bit up you should see a tilted ledge on the side of the building. If you run and jump, you will be able to grab onto the building just below this ledge. Then you can just jump/climb up on the tilted ledge. When you're up there, turn to the left and go around the corner until you reach a low fence. Jump over and you find yourself inside Wang's hideout with just a few guards remaining. Go up the stairs and you're in the room with all the big yellow pillars. [Then follow the strategy listed above this one beginning where the alternate strategy left off.] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Final Crime [5ch] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: Final Crime Location Plaza betwixt The Tower and Central Point This Final Crime can possibly be somewhat of a challenge. It's the same old thing though. I suggest you bring grenades, the Firefly, and the grenade launcher to this battle. Just shoot into the groups of gang members. If you become injured, you can run away behind a building briefly. Watch out though, lots of the Shai-Gen gang members will have Firefly rocket launchers also. So try to stay close to them to keep them from implementing their rockets, but don't be so close that you blow yourself up with your grenades and rockets. -----------------
